There are many things I hope to do before my children are grown up. Once they are adults, I shall have many other pleasures to look forward to. But for now, I intend to treasure moments with them and find some special times for myself too…mummy’s need that as well, you know! So here are the things I hope to accomplish over the next ten years.
- Take my children to Hawaii
- Ski with my children
- Sail on the ocean (children a bonus)
See Pearl Jam live (no children)See Eddie Vedder livePicnic on the beach as we all watch the sun set- Learn Photoshop and improve my photography
- Learn to play the guitar
- Learn another language and practice it in the native country (Children invited)
Start my own Etsy shop(probably with the crafts I created for my babies)Go on safari- Spend one summer RVing with the children (just for fun!) and to see more of this great country
- House swap to a beautiful country
Fly in a helicopterGet one good family portrait- Pay off the credit cards (before we pay for college)
Decide how I want to decorate the house- Grow a vegetable and herb garden
Ride along a beach on a horsewith the children- Try acupuncture
- Commit to a form of exercise and do it regularly –
getting there! Have family dinners more than once a week- Hike up a mountain and show the boys what a great world we live in from the top
Bake a cake that can be eaten by humans- Donate bone marrow – just found out I can’t as I’m British and the US will not accept mine.
Drop the 10lbs that have snuck up on me since turning 40!Take part in a Flash Mob
Katy, I love your bucket list. You inspire me to make myself a cup of tea and come up with my own. When you’re ready to try the skiing adventuree let me know and you can join us locally in CT!
Sounds great…I am an absolute beginner! It feels good to have long-term goals that are more interesting than cleaning 🙂
adventure….not adventuree, though perhaps it will have a “whee!” behind it!!
Ok I just commented on one of your other posts about how I feel like I relate to you as a working mom with similar goals. Now I look at your bucket list and see you have seeing Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder on your list. I’m like holy cow…my favorite band! And of course I love Eddie Vedder! I have seen PJ live 4 times I think now but never Eddie on his own. My brother did a year of so ago and guess it as awesome. Glad you got to experience that!
Hi Ashley,
Just came across this comment…it was buried in a pile. Good to ‘meet’ a fellow PJ fan…they are soooo good! Live is beyond words! Eddie on his own is totally different but just as amazing. Are you going to Europe? I’m not…kids and work. But I loved Hartford and both Brooklyn shows this year 🙂
Take care,
katy x
