21 Day Fix



One of my favorite workouts comes straight from the 21 Day Fix.  It is challenging enough to make be feel like I am giving my body an amazing workout, but also low impact enough for my body to avoid any injury.  I am not planning on becoming an Olympic medalist, I just want to lose weight, get in shape, and feel as healthy as possible.

Of course, just doing cardio is not enough to help me achieve my goal.  I need to build lean muscle which will help my body continue to burn fat.  It will also help me strengthen my weakened joints…and build my aging bones.  All essential elements of the fitness and health of a forty-something working mom.

What is 21 Day Fix?

How Do I Know it Works?

  5. On a day when I felt I needed to pull back a little, I could follow the ‘modifier’ AKA Kat.  She demonstrates the same moves but with modifications.  I actually started out just following Kat until I felt ready to do the full moves and it worked so well.
  6. The easiest, and my favorite meal of the day is now my chocolate Shakeology shake.  I look forward to it every day.  I usually enjoy it for breakfast, after my yoga session (which I stream from BeachBody On Demand.)

Results

I have just started this program.  I am into my third week (at time of writing – I’ll update again soon.)  I feel better, much more awake all day.  I am fitting into my clothes much better now.  I like the way my skin looks – although a little sun-kissed glow would be nice – and even my hairdresser commented on how much thicker my hair is.  Admittedly, I have been drinking Shakeology longer than working on the exercise program so skin and hair improved over about a month.  On the scale, my weight is down 6lbs.  My goal is much more, but I know this is a jump-start for me.
